Tim Leary

During the psychedelic movement of the nineteen sixties Timothy Leary was a psychiatrist at Harvard University. During the psychedelic movements peek Timothy Leary was at the forefront of the LSD research that was behind it. As a result of his drug use he went to prison several times during the nineteen sixties and seventies. However, his longest prison sentence was when LSD was finally made illegal and the DEA raided his apartment to find mass quantities of LSD and marijuana. This picture is of Timothy Leary’s final arrest in the seventies.

When he was not causing trouble Leary used drugs to guide him and to understand the universe. As a result of his philosophical drug use he wrote several books to guide the user and nonuser to his philosophical views of the world. This picture is an example of one of the somewhat inane questions that he asked during thought his life guided by drugs.

After his short stint in prison Timothy Leary escaped and made his way to Switzerland where he was found and extradited back to the US. His exile lead him to point fingers at the people who helped him escape. Shortly after that Leary and burnt out and distanced himself from the drug culture and settled down for good.

His exile lead him from a career as a professor to a career as a stage performer, and shortly after a blogger. This picture is constructed entirely of acid bolder paper that Leary used to distribute his product. He almost single handily created a movement that became a large part of American culture that in hindsight became the American philosophy of progression.

It seems fitting that the only words that we remember from Mr. Leary are those to the left. His profound journey inspired an academic movement, and the pop culture movement that changed the world. It seems that his role as a drug user is embellished, used as a tool to down play the philosophical aspect of the sixties, and taken looked upon in utter disdain. He was just not a drug user he was a modern philosopher, phycitrist, and intellectual leader. This picture is an example of his profound works that are utilized and admired to this day.
